Meditation

Meditation

A very much by my Buddhist teachers inspired definition of meditation I refined over the years is the following…

Meditation is habituating oneself with positive mind states by identifying negative thought patterns and transforming them, ultimately cultivating positive patterns, mental balance and clarity. It is a process by which one detaches from the constant thought activity to discover a stiller state of mind.

In this stillness, the mind cleanses itself. I learned to see meditation like a shower for the mind. If you don’t do it regularly, your energy and mood possibly start to stink … so meditation is a very essential habit for mental health and general wellbeing. Also, to stay with watery analogies, meditation will grant you access to the well of wisdom that lies within you. The most profound knowledge is already available, you just have to find the way to the stream …

Meditation empowers you to break the cycle of destructive patterns and redirect your mind. It empowers you to cultivate the skill of neutral observation, to make wiser choices in daily life, to truly benefit yourself and others by taking actions that are connected to your inner wisdom and purpose.

In our present age, meditation is mandatory. We are constantly bombarded with all kinds of distractions that pull us away from our inner path. In times of digital information overload, clarity is key. If you cannot see yourself clearly, you cannot adapt properly to the world around you, as it is continuing to shift and transform at an enormous pace. Without a stable meditation practice, you will struggle to keep up.

These simple but powerful meditation techniques empower us to make wiser decisions in alignment with our inner wisdom. So what are you waiting for? Let’s get started.
